Soldering circuits in Admiralty School

Our learners from Admiralty Gateway Transition have been busy putting the finishing touches to their lanterns this week before their exhibition of work tomorrow evening.

They have learnt a lot about constructing wooden lanterns and can carefully build a working circuit. One learner said 'the best part was working in the Design Technology area with all the big tools.'

Well done everyone!

Gateway Transition Exhibition of Learning

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow evening, you are invited to experience the wonderful work produced by all Gateway Transition Learners this half term.

The exhibition will be based on our 'what happens when the lights go out' lighthouse topic.

The exhibition will take place in the library from 4:30- 6:30pm and will be lit by candlelight. Please bring a device which has a small torch (there is one on most smartphones) and a QR reader (free iPhone/ipad app example below) to access your child's fantastic work.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening.

Super Circuits in Admiralty

This morning the children in  Admiralty Gateway Transition worked in small groups to create their very own series and parallel circuits. They then drew the scientific drawing for each circuit and labelled their diagrams.  This helped them choose which type of circuit they need to make and build for their own lantern.
